I feel like that really contributed to the homesickness how do I deal with it I don't know I feel like getting involved in like communities on campus definitely helps and like I don't just mean like yeah of course like community centers are like a great resource but like also just like Student Activities places that you can find people that have similar interests to you or like will really like make up like a family um for you and this can be like in your dorm it can be yeah it's do not just find find a sense of home on campus. that when you're not in your like familial home you'll still get those get those vibes in that energy yeah what are some of your favorite books okay I okay let's talk about a thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini that was brilliant um if you're looking for a quick read that will just make you feel. confused but in the best way possible after dark by Haruki Murakami really yeah really it's a really good taste of his work in general and its really quick compared to like some of his other works like 1q84 that's impossible or you didn't haven't gotten through it yet. and I've been working on it for like two years oh my god okay anyway I'm working on it anyway um what's the third psalm of Solomon by Toni Morrison that book changed my life good good okay let's see favorite type of milk tea for boba oh my god I love okay ah this is hard though okay I used to love taro but then I drank too much of it I really like long and I really like rose tea yeah I'd say those are like two of my favorite I usually classic boba pearls is like usually a safe choice unless like you're not like picking it up immediately like if you're having a friend get it for you and you won't get it until later then the pearls will get very hard and tough to choose. lychee jelly is also a very safe choice for me 100% sugar 25% ice that's generally what I get yeah what do I think I want to major in um okay actually I think I'm like getting there I'm picking a major finally we get until the end of sophomore year to pick a major. I am right now debating between. we have a communication major and we also have a major called sts which stands for science technology and society and there's like five tracks of the non major. if I were to pick that major I would probably pick the communication and media truck in and out versus Shake Shack versus five guys oh my god okay this is a very contentious topic I for sure Shake Shack for sure like oh my god you Californians don't even get it Shake Shack is amazing okay um five guys we all have that um East Coast is fine it's great that you can get as many toppings as you want for like one price right um I don't really like the fries that much um probably unpopular opinion they're just too thick for me and they have skin on them and I like my fries to be hella process like McDonald's level process like that is some good fry you know in and out the fries taste like styrofoam for the most part very affordable that's it's one plus um but everything tastes dry to me and the animal fries I tried them for the first time this summer and they were just not that great yeah that's that's my opinion okay Congrats on GK man oh thanks that's not a question but thank you when was your most stressful time at Stanford oh my god okay probably winter quarter last year was my most stressful time just because I was taking way too many classes which is probably like a common theme I think for like frost do you like bulk water they're just like chilling with their 12 to 15 units and then winter quarter comes along they're like I can handle more and they take 20 units not a good idea no matter how like no matter how easy you think the class is you sign up for are like they will probably be a lot more than you expect them to be and. I really just just sticking to like good like 15 to 18 units after first quarter freshman year like just chill man you got four years here you guys you got time don't mm-hmm that was a bad quarter okay um I'm currently at umass any advice on how to transfer and to schools like Stanford. this is this is definitely not what you want to hear but um the transfer rate to Stanford we used is like incredibly low and. low in fact that they can fit all on the transfer students in like a quarter of one of our dorms and they do do that they like house all the transfer students in that one dorm for some reason um my friend is texting me here about what's going on at CMU right now and it's just horrifying anyway um. it's not that you shouldn't try if you really do want to transfer here you should definitely try it's just that you will probably have had to done something you will probably have had to have done something and that's what I met um like truly remarkable in the time that you were in the college that you're transferring from in order to get it I don't know it's like it's less than 1% the transfer rate yeah. yeah any tips for starting a new YouTube channel that's a that's a good one. how I went about starting my youtube channel was kind of um unconventional I guess I don't know I like one of my first videos was like like it kind of played my role in like like I guess. I've been watching YouTube for like years before I started my channel and like I don't know I just tried to make videos that I myself would have wanted to watch um and one of those videos was a college decision react it's like. into this at the time and I guess a lot of other people were too. yeah. that's kind of where I started my channel at and then I started making vlogs. I really really liked watching blogs and. like tips for starting I think yeah you should just go for it like don't worry about making your first video perfect my first video was me just talking to a camera like every day for a month just to like warm up and get some practice of talking to the camera. yeah I know it's super uncomfortable at first but that's just that's just how you gotta do it just keep going and then like yeah your your stuff will get a lot better just by doing it like that's the best value of learning things by doing um anyway okay. I'm gonna quickly move on to the Instagram comments cuz I don't want to just give the entire spotlight to YouTube also quick plug follow me on instagram at Eleni arizona okay. with Stanford you're number one in school and if not which one was. Stanford I mean okay. like the thing about applying to schools like Stanford is that like there's no guarantee of course that like you're gonna get in or that it's even possible for you to get in honestly. like that's definitely the mindset I took with all my college apps that's why I ended up applying the 21 schools in total cuz I was just like what if I don't get into any of them and that would be terrible um but yeah. when I did get into Stanford that was like the ultimate shock I honestly yeah I literally thought I was dreaming I was like this is not reality like. it definitely took some time to get used to the idea but. yeah Sanford was not always my number one choice because I didn't even know that it was a choice that I could have Congrats been following since 500 oh that's a long time yeah what's your favorite ice cream flavor. I'm fan of like anything vanilla-based really um cookies and cream chocolate chip cookie dough um I don't know fudge swirl anything with like a vanilla base I'm down for um I also I love like flavors that are artificially colored for some reason like man um back home there's like this ice cream shop that has. many flavors it's also like it has like a chocolate part where you not like chocolate ice cream with like actual chocolates where you can like buy them but there's like this ice cream wall and they have this one flavor and I don't remember what it's called because I don't go there nearly as often as I should but it is this really bright blue color and it's like it's inspired by Cookie Monster I think but they can't name it after him because like copyright issues. it's like a bright blue Oreo cookie monster ish vibe in flavor and oh my god I don't know I love artificial colors even though they're probably terrible for you and will make you die um they're just you see something right and you're like I have to have that in my body how can mirrors be real if our eyes aren't real thank you for this question Rona uh I don't know enough about physics or philosophy dancer this question probably um but I think that realness is a construct and that assuming our eyes are not real then nothing else is real and thus doesn't even matter if mirrors are real or not. that is the real question here I think any favorite books / must reads I'm piling up my list for my summer before freshman year of college okay. I guess this is kind of different from the other one because I was just like all-time favorite books and this sounds like summer before College books um. my summer before freshman year I read these three books that actually no I read I read two of them to us I read these two out of three books that Stanford sent us in the mail um as part of their three books program where they bring they bring the authors of the books to campus to talk about them once we get here um super late but anyway. I read we the animals by Justin Torres and we need new names by know violet Bulawayo and they were phenomenal. if you want book Rex those are the Rex I have for you this summer I read a few books I read Caucasia by Dan Z Sena and I read yellow-faced by David Henry Hwang and those two were also really cool especially if you are at all interested in mixed-race identities slash politics yeah. I think this video has gone on for long enough I'm. sorry if I didn't have time to get to your question but I hope that this was overall still a helpful video in general and I just want to thank you all for subscribing and watching it's really unbelievable that we hit 2k like wow thanks for watching I will be back very shortly I have a video that I'm going to upload that is kind of a beauty video um. stay tuned for that yeah okay

I think this video has gone on for long enough I'm. sorry if I didn't have time to get to your question but I hope that this was overall still a helpful video in general and I just want to thank you all for subscribing and watching it's really unbelievable that we hit 2k like wow thanks for watching I will be back very shortly I have a video that I'm going to upload that is kind of a beauty video um. stay tuned for that yeah okay

stanford q&a: my major, transferring, was stanford my first choice?

honestly like the Lighting's not even half bad here like why is it not able to focus okay there we go hey guys. it's been a few days since I posted like the video asking for questions for my Q&A I just got back from my 9 a.m. class I've 9 a.m. class two days five days of the week and it's a great class it's just terrible waking up anyway on my whereabouts right now this is my dorms computer cluster in case you couldn't figure it out by that desktop computer that is in here I don't know I feel like people generally don't have desktops in college unless they do hardcore things but usually a few hardcore things you don't have a Mac desktop. anyway also I'm like legit wearing PJs cuz I did not bother changing to go to class and I am my next class is at 1:30. I have a little bit of time in between right now to just answer your questions okay um. I mean these aren't like in order chronologically also okay I don't even know oh yeah I won't have like time to answer all the questions in this video. definitely let me know if you want a part two or something but yeah okay. let's start with this one tips for dealing with homesickness well let's see okay. I guess freshman year I like wasn't too homesick for pretty much most of the year until like the end and I feel like it was mostly cuz like. standards on the quarter system right and what are some schools tend to have like the schedule that starts much later and then ends much later than most other semester schools. all my friends are back home already and I was still stuck in this place towards the end of Spring Quarter. I think this video has gone on for long enough I'm. sorry if I didn't have time to get to your question but I hope that this was overall still a helpful video in general and I just want to thank you all for subscribing and watching it's really unbelievable that we hit 2k like wow thanks for watching I will be back very shortly I have a video that I'm going to upload that is kind of a beauty video um. stay tuned for that yeah okay

stanford q&a: my major, transferring, was stanford my first choice?

honestly like the Lighting's not even half bad here like why is it not able to focus okay there we go hey guys. it's been a few days since I posted like the video asking for questions for my Q&A I just got back from my 9 a.m. class I've 9 a.m. class two days five days of the week and it's a great class it's just terrible waking up anyway on my whereabouts right now this is my dorms computer cluster in case you couldn't figure it out by that desktop computer that is in here I don't know I feel like people generally don't have desktops in college unless they do hardcore things but usually a few hardcore things you don't have a Mac desktop. anyway also I'm like legit wearing PJs cuz I did not bother changing to go to class and I am my next class is at 1:30.
